    Hi all

I live in Raheny in Dublin 5.
last night approx 1.45 am a HUGE plane flew over my house at lowish level (same height a helicopter might fly at)

I was flying away from Dublin Airport at the time out towards Dublin Bay.
The Aircraft was so loud that it woke me up just as I was falling asleep.

Obviously it was dark but but looked like it had a Big tail. (could tell from the lights)

    Anyone else see it?

    G.

They are still using runway 16/34 at night so a departure off 16 would pass over the Raheny area.
At that time of night id imagine it was cargo so maybe an A300 or 767?!

Not sure if I understand.........you were FLYING AWAY from DUB, just falling asleep when you SAW a huge aircraft (by its lights) overflying Raheny?

P.S. I was in bed at 0100 so not sure if any aircraft flew into Baldonnel at time.

Yeah, they were using 34 last night also, they seem to be using it on and off over the past few weeks.

    anyone know why this is?

I thought this was to facilitate installation of new stopbar lighting as per this NOTAM:
