Well Polski peoples or anyone who knows Warsaw well............. are there any good camera shops in there? I'm in Poland until Saturday so it'd be cool to find somewhere like the shop in ThOnda's photos.

It'd be great to come back with a bargain or two. I bought a Fed 5 through a Polish website similar to eBay for the amazing sum of E20 but it'd be nice to browse a shop and stumble across something exciting.

If anyone wants anything just let me know.

What kind of cameras/brands are you interested in?

Usually those huge RTV stores (in every shopping mall) have some selection of DSLRs and compacts, and there's a good chance for a dedicated camera place in such a mall too. In Zlote Tarasy there's a Nikon store if I remember well, Canon and Sony places are easy to find as well.

If you're looking for a more unique/specialised place let me know, I should remember them well enough.

Thanks herya. Actually I wouldn't mind picking up an old film camera. There are plenty of places selling compacts and DSLR's but I'd like to find something old and interesting.

OK so you might find this useful - there is a photo market in Stodola club on Sundays around noon, I think it's 10am to 2pm or similar hours. It costs about 1 euro to get in and people have their small stalls with cameras and equipment to sell. Be warned that the offer varies wildly and is pretty random, sometimes there's a lot of good stuff and sometimes it's only a bunch of pensioners with their rusty cameras but if you're interested in older cameras it's probably the best hands-on place.

Stodola is a big music club and it's just next to Pole Mokotowskie underground.

Also, great range and prices can be found on Allegro.pl (Polish Ebay, basically) if you have someone to translate the descriptions to you.

Thanks herya, that's some good advice. Unfortunately we're flying back on Saturday but as I'm here a few times a year I can just visit another time. Allegro is where I bought the Fed 5. My other half is Polish so can translate thankfully.
