Use to have severe pain in my shins from running. Went to Amphibian King in Bray and they sorted it out.

Its free too, might pay 10 more on the runners though but great service

Runways on Parnell street charge €15, which is redeemable if you buy a pair of shoes. Haven't had an analysis done yet though so can't say if it's worth it.

Had it done in Amphibian Kings, Bray too. Never really had an injury, but wanted to make sure I was running in the right shoe. Have found my new shoes great - i also feel I run faster in them!!:)

P.s Op - love the user name!

I went to Ambhibian King in Bray too. Had been suffering from pains in my heel on long runs so decided to try a gait analysis. I found them very good. They recommended a different type of runner and it worked a treat! Prices very comparable to other shops in the city.

Can anyone tell what the ananlysis consists of and the advantage of it.

Will they just advise a particular runner or is there more to it like insoles and that. I'm curious as my feet kinda go in different directions.

In Amphibian Kings they video you running on a track in your bare feet to see how your foot strikes the ground, then they give you 3 pairs of runners and video you in these to see which suits ya better. (thats what they did with me anyway)

I get mine done in The Edge in Cork and that's exactly the way they do it, too. I'd say getting your gait analysed is as important as brushing your teeth every day - it's essential.

i really need to get this done as i have been suffering with pains in my shins after running for weeks now.

i have also heard that foot solutions on Georges St in Dublin do this.

Has anyone any experience with them?

Probably posting in the wrong place but its kind of related.
Had a gait analysis months back in Elverys Galway , free and beneficial . would recommend .
Got the Asics Kayano 14 as I overpronate badly from the heel in.All was fine until I bought the new asics Kayano 15 a few weeks back , putting about 40-50k weekly on them but within a week of getting them I have terrible pain in the centre of my right heel only which has not gone to my right hip , pain only occurs after running.
It might be a coincidence with the new runners but anyone else have issues with heel support on the Kayano 15.
