I need a new game to reinvigorate my PSP.
Can anyone recommend one for me?

    Games I enjoyed were:
    God of War
    Syphon Filter
Lego Star Wars, Lego Indiana Jones
    Daxter
    Everybody's Golf

My fav types of games are shoot-em-ups and platformers.
I'm not all that keen on RPGs but I'll play pretty much anything!

Loco Roco is the best platformer you can get on the system. Great fun and very charming.

If you liked Syphon Filter, you might like Resistance: Retribution, it's by the same developer as all the Syphon Filter PSP games.

Seeing as you liked Daxter, you might like Ratchet and Clank: Size Matters. The controls can take a few minutes to get used to but apart from that it's a good game - Daxter is the superior game though.

I'd also recommend LocoRoco (and LocoRoco 2). There are plenty of demos for you to download from the PSN Store, so you should try out LocoRoco and Patapon and any other demos you can find there.

Ah yes, I downloaded LocoRoco demo and it seems quite good, thanks for the heads up folks.
Lots of colour and happy music, plus there's seems to be a nice puzzle element to it.

    How about a shooter?
Resistance looks good alright, maybe Killzone, Call of Duty, Medal of Honor?
Also Silent Hill looks quite interesting, though I'm not sure if it would be so scary on the PSP!

Get Silent Hill! It's as scary as the consoles..........Erm, I typed that out loud didn't I........hmm. But yeah, it's got a few jumpy moments in it. Gives you a little message at the start to put in earphones to get the full effect. It is creepy as hell though.

Also as mentioned before Killzone is a bit of fun. If a little short. Resistance feels and plays exactly like the Syphon Filter games so I wouldn't bother with that.

Dunno if you're a MGS man, but even if your not Portable ops is superb. I'm a bit of a Snake tragic (I BRING SHAME ON MY FATHERS HOUSE ;)) and it's possibly the most fun of all MGSs.

LocoRoco, Patapon, Killzone and the newly released Gran Turismo is out. Also check out Fieldrunners on the PSN, unless you already have it on the iPhone

I'm trying to get through portalbe ops but the controls are just terrible, can't get used to it and the crappy camera.

Oh god yes, dunno what they were thinking. Having played the Peace Walker demo (which controls beautifully) I can't fathom why they didn't get the controls right the first time with Portable Ops.

Yeah, I'd read elsewhere about the camera being an issue, dunno why but it rarely bothered me. So many little things in portable ops made it for me though, the wifi hotspot troops, the building different teams to do missions in different ways, online games. Still pick it up every now and again.

Also, Jeanne D'Arc, Burnout , FF:Tactics are superb.
Jeanne D'Arc especially. Looking forward to Valkyria II.

    Having the same problem.

Can't quite get my head around some of the other quirks, keep getting to a situation where my stamina is about to fail and I can't find any boosters in time so just die.

Sid Meir's Pirates! The one game I never get tired of and still go back to after all these years.

The lack of hiding places in the levels in portable ops is also annoying, even worse is when you hide somewhere that would have worked in the older games and it doesn't in portable ops. It just seems the sneaking and hiding options are greatly reduced.
