I checked a few routes and there are flights, but notably none in late afternoon/early evening on 24th dec.

Is it perhaps that the route is cut for winter months? They seem to have done this for Nice, for example.

Wouldn't be anything to do with air crew having familys and might actually want to spend Christmas with them. Also Michael O'Leary mightn't be a total bstard after all.

Could also have to do with the airports being closed on these days.
Last year i had that problem when i wanted to fly from Holland(Eindhoven) on january 1st. Airport was closed that day.
