What for? Windows has a free firewall. Your router probably does, too.

    Its a 1 year licence useable on 3 PC's

You have to submit your credit card number to buy something which price comes to 0.00......

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,683 ✭✭✭✭TheDriver

hmmm, didn't have to submit any cc details, you might want to check that. Last year, it took good while before an email came, think it might have been 2-3 days after.

    Urrrrgghhh... software firewall's. ICK!

"Do you want to allow this program to access the Internet?" x 1000!

    Not a fan whatsoever!

why? because zone alarm is a lot better than windows firewall, especially on XP. I find it stops a lot of suspicious behaviour on my pc

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 825 ✭✭✭LFC Murphy

It's asking for CC details? any ideas?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,601 ✭✭✭Kotek Besar

    Total waste of time.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,130 ✭✭✭Pimp Ninja

    Try this
    http://download.zonealarm.com/bin/free/sum/index-b.html

And click the green Download Now in the banner at the top.
It asks for a First Name, Surname, and email address (to which they email the details)

Benifa: Ever wonder why there are companies developing firewalls and more importantly, making vast amounts of money when MS give a firewall for free?

I was expecting a HW firewall when I read the title. SW firewalls are a waste of time..

well maybe you might enlighten us as to why we shouldn't bother with this or any firewall and trust windows firewall?

This is a bargains alert thread lads, not somewhere to discuss the merits of firewalls.

Regardless of your thoughts this IS a bargain.

Next we'll have people saying Lucozade is a total waste of time....

    Cop on.

Still a good deal for passing on to parents.

    Installed successfully :D

Absolutely no prompt to enter any CC details at any point... me thinks some PP were clicking something else on the website which would lead you to some kind of 'purchase' page.

    Anyway, thanks again OP

Nope, there was a point there when you clicked the download now button, it tried to bundle a load of other software with it. You could remove the other software and the firewall was still $0 but it still wanted credit card details. It's working properly again now and still good until 2 o'clock I think.

    EDIT: Oh, and thanks OP.

I think if you already have an account registered it'll go through the CC page, otherwise you are good to go, so if you have already used Zonealarm, just sign up with a new account (and email address).

    Thanks op, good find
