Can MS-DOS be used with XP or is it just for older systems, because I just made a copy and cannot figure out how I boot into it. Restarted computer with disk inside but nothing happened.

Did you check your boot sequence in bios so that the floppy loads first?

Booting from an MS-DOS floppy probably won't get you access to the hard disk of an XP machine if it's formatted in FAT32 or NTFS. Why do you need to boot to MS-DOS anyway?

If you have your XP CD its simpler to boot from that and use the command-line Recovery Console.

    The Recovery Console isn't dos.

Never said it was!:) Very similar commands though, and if you type "help" it will list the commands and give info on them.

What do you need DOS for? If it's to run an old program, go with DOSBox.
