Favourite and least favourite things about NUIG

Apologies if this has been done before.

I thought it might be nice to have a thread where we can share our appreciation and/or frustration of different aspects of college life in Galway.

I'll start. I'm in first year so I'm sure there's loads more that I've not yet discovered.

Favourite: Fridays. One class in the morning and then my weekend starts. Politics lectures, surprisingly. Striking up conversations so easily and yet also being almost completely anonymous.

Least favourite: 9am starts. 9am Monday morning starts. Kirwin and O'Flaherty in the afternoons...jesus the heat. The scrambled eggs *gag*. The Salmon Weir Bridge.

What are everyone else's favourite and least favourite things about NUIG?

Yep, it's one scary experience. I'm quite surprised I survived unharmed for a whole year in Galway despite walking over that bridge at least twice a day, every day :-/

Ah a few Commerce students. What I'm hating at the moment is that we won't have that MIS lecturer anymore.

Martin was a legend, lectured in a interesting way, quick witted and knew how to hold our
Attention. MIS the one lecture very few missed!:-D

One thing I find really annoying is the lack of plug sockets in the IT building. The sheer number of people in that building using laptops (including me) surely warrants the installation of more plug sockets?

Ha Ha! Yeah I really enjoyed his lectures. It was funny how people made sure not to miss his lectures. I dont think we will ever forgot that the purpose of MIS is to reduce risk.:p

hate; the canteen, its smaller than NUIM's, which has half the student population.
    Library, for the same reason.

Like pretty much everything else, although beginning in a college as a postgrad is a different experience to doing your BA, so there's stuff I got to miss like ****ty lecture halls and (for the most part) early starts.
