Wireless network Hub.

Hello,

A network question. I have wireless broadband in the house but its at the front door where the eircom line comes in. I am thinking of getting a DVR that has an ethernet connection but do not want to hardwire between the two, so could I use a wireless hub and connect to DVR and then use my laptop to log onto the DVR over that wireless link??

What you want is a wireless ethernet bridge. It has 4 ports in it so you can even plug in more computers etc.

Thanks, is this the same thing for half the price??

Yeah that does the same job, however some people think that Belkin's wireless gear is rubbish/or it may work fine. Personally I think Buffalo has great hardware and more reliable but it's up to you.

Yep, Belkin is a POS, You'd be lucky if its still working when the warranty is up, plus they randomly loose their settings and have no signal strength.

I recommend Linksys (Buffalo not bad either, not much experience with them) cos they just work
