What is the difference between the two apart from "arts" and "science". Is one perceived as more difficult than the other and more respected or does it really matter ? I have read that BA usually last 3 years as opposed to maybe 4 years for a BSc.

    TBH, that's pretty much it.

Difficulty, like beauty, is in the eye of the beholder. What one person may find difficult, another may find trivial.

You can do an ordinary BSc. in three years, as opposed to a BSc. (Hons) in four.

At the risk of sounding completely obvious, the Bsc is a more science based degree, so you will probably do more Chemistry/Biology based subjects (modules), rather than literature/reading based subjects.
