We have an integrated oven which says its belling but synergie is also displayed above the oven door
The element is gone so whilst the oven is working there is no heat coming out of it and it needs to be replaced
However, this is the third time in 7 years this has happened and the last time the cost was 170 the last twice to replace
Now im thinking should i just replace the oven for something more reliable or should i get the part replaced?
    what is more reliable?
is three times in seven years the norm?
do i need to get an electrician around to disconnect it and reconnect it also?
im totally stupid when it comes to electrics
do any of the stores install also?
We've never been that impressed with the oven anyway.
    any suggestions much appreciated

i have a belling oven which is 3 years old. I broke the oven door glass and guess what belling have no spares. They are poor on spares imo.

But to answer your question. Yes i would replace it. The element is easily replaced and on belling its usually done through the front. Google the model number and you will get a list of agents that does parts. There is a good parts supplier up north. I cant think of it but think its applience serviceing.

Obv the official line is use an electrician be it is easy enough. I done mine.

should i have a crack at it (the wife is goin cracked at that notion as it is)
the call out and part will cost me 170 otherwise

..but my 10 yr old oven blew up something a few days ago. I was thinking of replacing it as the door hasn't closed properly for a long time, but assuming it was just the element (fan and grill still work) it sounds like this in itself may be fixable for < 200.
    A couple questions though :
Any ideas if the door might be fixable as well (I made the mistake of taking it out of it's hinges and it never went back properly)?
If I were to get a new one, could I install it myself? I'm reasonably competent with diy (perhaps dangerously so). The oven is a 600mm built under electric NEFF.
Any recommendations for retailers in Dublin?

    Thanks.

    Hi

very common for hinges to go on neff ovens.the element and hinges can be repaired for around 175.well worth it cos neffs from that era are second to none. pm me if you need advice

If you have spent €170 x 3 times in 7 years then you could of had a new oven. I would recommend Tricity Bendix ovens. Or anything in the AEG Electrolux Range. I know a bit about their performance. If you want to PM me I will give you a URL to look at for them and reasons why I recommend them.

Cheers gark, I took off the back and the element is clearly busted. Found the element and hinges at partmaster.co.uk so I'll give it a lash and pm you when if I make a hames of it.
