I usually get the cheapest brand name tyre. Try quick fit, they will do the balancing too.

Rather, I seek a place where I can buy cheap new tires and where will fit and balance them.

I got four dunlops 205/55/16 last week from TAB Tyres & Batteries - U8 Western Ind Est 12 Co. Dublin (01)4565933 - They're just off the Naas Road, behind Woodies off the Nangor road - http://www.goldenpages.ie/Tyres/Tab_Tyres_%26_Batteries/IE_11550417_9999_1003
Total price including fitting was 340 (including VAT), but I did have to twist his arm for the last few quid of discount (the initail quote was 360!) - I rang around a good few places and that was the best price I could get.

Got a quote yesterday for Bridgestone Potenza 215 45 r17's of 135 euro each from Tom Gerathy in Waterford.

    Seems a lot.

Wonder would I do much better in the North?

Got 4 Pirelli P6000 205/55 R16 for 340 including fitting at Dave McCanns at Coolmine Business Park. No complaints!

If that's balanced and fitted thats a good enough price to be honest. They are big enough wheels
