will it affect your ability to chew food? or will it cause other problems? they're both beside each other

Supposedly people need a minimum of 20 teeth meeting in order to eat properly. If you lose two teeth you lose the function of 4 teeth normally as the two opposing don't have anything to meet against. Losing teeth may have other bad effects on your other remaining teeth as well. The other teeth may move in unfavourable directions that can cause other problems like food getting caught between teeth etc.

sounds like you haven't lost them yet. yes of course it will affect your ability to chew and it will cause other problems ( unless you happen to be really really lucky)
