I picked up a small scratch on rear passanger side of car, what would be the best most cost effective way of getting it repaired, bearing in mind that the car is only a year old

Telephone your insurance company, this is what you pay them for.

what color is it,, i doubt you need to spray it, just get some color wax to cover it,,, or touch up paint and a tiny tip brush to coat scratch,,then wax off any excess paint,, u only want paint on the scratch not the rest of paint work on door,,,

Thanks for the advise, I,m aware that there are mobile car repair units that specialise in scratches and scuffs, but I reckon they could be pricey.

It really depends on the how deep the scratch is. A picture of it would really help.

But to be honest on a car that is only a year old I would not skimp on getting it done proper if it needs. A poor job whether it be a cheap professional or DIY job will show up on such a new car. This will then impact the resale value of the car.

Touch up paint will always be noticeable no matter how careful you are. If the scratch is on a body panel a lot og the mobile guys might not touch it. I had a small scratch put on mine lately and I had to get it sprayed. Spray job would be about 250-300 per panel usually
