Any Archlinux users in here?

I've found Archlinux ( www.archlinux.org ) to be the distro for me - rolling release and a "Keep It Simple, Stupid" philosofy suits me well.

    Any other Archers around?

    yes, one here.

I like the way all the apps are vanilla, with no ubuntu tinkering.

Just installing it on my new hard drive now! Out of interest, what WM/DE do ye use with it?

I used fluxbox for my old system and it was very responsive (and had the advantage of people not being able to use it :D). Thinking of going for something bulkier this time. I'm kinda sick of Gnome, but I think I might give KDE a go.

I'm not that big a fan of xfce either for some reason. If KDE is too slow, I'll just go back to flux.

    I'm using openbox myself:

    [bias]Slackware ftw![/bias]

Arch is a pretty nice, simple system though. The Pacman source code is really
quite readable. Good if you want to get a conceptual model of how
to implement a real package manager with dep checking and such.

So yeah, I do like Arch.

I've come back and forth to KDE - but I get disappointed every time of the performance. (I have an NVIDIA card so I don't blame the KDE guys)

When NVIDIA fixes this (not fixed with 190.42) I might give it another shot.

KDE is still sluggish around the windows manager, maybe its just my NVIDIA gfx card.

I've gotten lxde the way i like it.

But yea, no more distro hopping(hopefully)
