Anyone else having issues with Moodle this year? Half of my subjects aren't even showing up. When I search for them it says no results?

I've been on to the registry about this but they weren't much help. Just wondering if anyone else is in the same boat? Seems a bit ridiculous to be going into week 3 with half of my modules not showing up on moodle.

This is the same with all courses initially.
The Lecturer for your course has to make the pages on Moodle publicly available to students before you will actually be able to view them.

In my case most of the modules are now available and those that are not hopefully will be soon.

If they do not become available email the lecturers involved and to see if there is a reason why they have not been made public and if not could they enable access for students.

One of our lecturers said there was a problem with Moodle this year, but only advised to check with registry

That's the same issue I'm having Terry. My course head tells me to go to the registry. They tell me to go to Information Systems and Services. They tell me to contact my lecturer. The problem is I don't have email addresses for some of these lecturers, and the registry says they can't provide them without a full name, which I don't have. So it seems I have to wait until I go to individual lectures this week and ask the lecturer in person.
Just frustrating as I was out of the country for the first week or so, so I've already missed more than I wanted, and now I can't access module details on Moodle. Last year I was just registered automatically for everything, seems a bit strange.

You can get a staff members email by using the Staff search feature on DCU's website here.
Part of there name should be listed on your timetable. You do not require the full name of the staff member as it will suggest each possibility.

Slightly related, I can't get onto the DCU mail sometimes, it just alternates between "Loading" and the web address. Lucky I have forwarding set up, but still annoying.

I have the same problem. I just bookmarked the link to the login page and it works. Don't have a problem with the computers in the college buildings themselves, though.

Anyone having a problem getting into moodle today? It says the sites security certificate has expired and that I should retreat immediately. Says they cannot confirm if the site is the real moodle or an 'attacker'

Don't worry it is the actual Moodle. :)

Someone messed up and did not renew the security certificate. Due to this it expired at 13:45 today. I'm sure as soon as it is reported it will be fixed quite quickly.

I ah this problem to at the start of the year. the computer centre told me i needed to change the cookies settings. go to tools, internet options, privacy, advanced then click over-ride automatic cookies... works a charm!

I ended up just forwarding all my mail to a decent Gmail account, works better and is easier to access.

There's always issues with moodle. lecturers are use to it, it usually gets fixed pretty quick. just be careful to alway check it. Some lecturers never use it others go so far as to grade you on your postings, so best to check it regular for all modules until you know who lives on it and who never uses it.
