iPod touch won't sync photos

I'd normally do a search here but search is broked. Can sync songs/apps to my ipod touch no problem, but it's outright refusing to sync my pics. Tried moving the pictures to a diffrent folder, usb drive and deleting the ipod photo cache but still no joy, really frustrating atm because Ive pretty much everything else…

windows xp
itunes 9.0.18

regular jpgs, ive found a temp fix in that i remove some apps, load the photos, then add the apps again. This isn't ideal obviously losing data for certain apps if they are removed every time i sync

well depending on how many photos there are , it might not be syncing because there isnt enough space.. some of my photos are up to 11 mb
