17K miles on an eight year old car is rare though, 7 grand maximum is what i would pay.

Recession? What recession? This is why I've never liked MINIs... BMW (correctly) expected idiots to pay over-inflated prices for a bog-standard car. Seven years later and they're doing the same.

17k in 8 years is very bad. Imagine how long the internals have been sitting there rusting. It'll need major work in a year or two.
No doubt Paintdoctor will chime in that this is an ultra-rare MINI with solid gold anti rollbars and platinum instead of steel wheels ;)

Even if it was a Cooper S with all the goodies it wouldn't be worth that much!

Price of used cars is generally on milage. That's a seven year old car with very low milage.

    Clocked probably.

It's a mental price. I was only in bed last night trying to figure out why prices here are what people think they cars are worth, not what cars are actually worth. Some cars never seem to drop below 3/4k no matter how old they get. Bikes are worse. I've never seen a bike advertised for less than 2.5k no matter how old, rusty, or useless it is.

To be fair, that isn't going to be an issue. That tritec engine is bulletproof. The only thing that goes is the power steering pump.

Not a chance :) Even I'm not that mental. The owner of that car needs a serious reality check!

It's one of the option packages, but the runt of the litter ... you get :

    Floor mats
    Front Fogs
    Trip Computer
    Interior Lighting Package
    Storage Compartment Package
    Passenger Seat Height Adjustment

The Pepper Pack gave you all that + 15" Alloys (On the One, on the Cooper they were standard, and the pack cost less), Chrome Exterior, and Leather Steering Wheel.

The Chili Pack which was only available on the Cooper, and Cooper S gave you everything in the Pepper Pack, and added Half leather, 16" Wheels, Spoiler, Sport Suspension, Sport Seats with Lumbar Support, and Sport Steering Wheel. If you had an S, you got Aircon, Xenons with Headlamp Washers, and 17" Wheels as part of the Chili Pack.
