    Hi,
I have a passat. When slowing down to stop theres like a "kick" back i feel through the break pedal. Anyone ever experience this? I had it in garage last week getting cv or cd heads or something done (dont even know what they are) and it was fine before i left it in.
    thanks in advance

Sounds like your ABS kicking in when braking hard.

Sounds like an abs fault. If you have work done of cv joint, this would certainly be the cause. there are abs teeth on the cv joint and if something not put back right, it might be causing the abs to activate too quickly.
Is this the same pedal feel as when the abs activates of loose chips? Have you ever experienced this?
We had this problem years ago on an audi 100. At that time the abs magnetic teeth were moving and so the car assumed the the wheel was locking leading to the abs kick back

thanks for the replies. I haven't experienced it before...dont think i have had to break hard before on loose chippings. Il send it back to garage on monday - while i have been driving it for 2 hours per day for past few days i hope it isnt doing any further damage.
