Would you believe you can get a USB to iPhone / iPod lead for 2 euro in the 2 euro shop on Abbey Street at the Luas ? Complete with car adaptor !

Really? Wow, thats amazing. Wonder if it's safe to use a charger as cheap as this in something as expensive as an iPhone though? Think there is one of those shops here in Longford. Might take a spot. Thanks very much.

It's just the connector from the iPhone that ends in a USB plug. The source of the power is up to you. If you want to be super safe you can use a PC to supply the charge. Most mains-to-USB adaptors would be safe I reckon.

Heatons have the retractable usb/iPod cables. 4 euro, but don't forget they also do a 10% student discount.

    Cheers

Sounds like the Euro Shop is the way to go

My brother recently got a few from www.dealextreme.com

I've ordered stuff from them before, it's cheap, with free delivery, and does the job.
