Not surprised Linares lost before he stepped up to taking on A level fighters, I never quite got the hype around him.

I was surprised it was Salgado because if I'm honest I know little about the Mexican and can't even remember if I've seen him fight or not.

I struggle to think of a fighter who's had an easy a path to two 'World' titles as Linares, and with 2 easy defences to go with it. I think he'll struggle to gain a World belt again, and he needs quite a lot of work to develop into the fighter many thought he was.

Linares was very impressive against Larios but since then he has disappointed.

TBH I remember everyone raving about that and I just wasn't that impressed.
Larios wasn't completely shot but he was badly faded and for me he caused Linares quite a few problems in that fight. Linares seems uncomfortable when a fighter is willing to throw back while he's throwing, and he also doesn't like being backed up.

It was the Larios fight that showed me this guy wasn't as good as people think, despite what seemed an impressive fight on the surface.

To be fair, the fella just got blitz. It happens, and it's not the end of the world. A one minute fight proves very little. If he is the fighter that some people believe he is, he will come back stronger. We just have to wait and see.
