He's only started getting a few starts recently due to Adriaan being ruled out for the rest of the season through injury. His lineout throwing has been solid and he is really lively in the loose. Not the tallest of players but he punches well above his weight in the tackle. Scrummaging might be a bit of an issue when he arrives into dublin, he's an easy target for bigger props to put pressure on.

    Leinster Player of Month -

Kevin McLaughlin has been named the Bank of Ireland Leinster Player of the Month for September.

Flanker McLaughlin played in all four Manger's League games and took the opportunity to impress Leinster's followers with energetic performances making him supporters top choice in September.

He said: "I am delighted to receive this award; it is a great honour to be recognised by the Leinster supporters. I've work hard over the past few months and look forward to continuing this for the supporters and for the team."

Kurt McQuilken rules himself out of Head Coach Contention -

Meanwhile Kurt McQuilken has revealed that he does not wish to succeed Michael Cheika who steps down as head coach next summer. McQuilken’s stock has soared since taking over as defence coach with Leinster. The province has not conceded a try in almost 200 minutes and was similarly stingy in the final stages of last year’s Heineken Cup.

“No, I wouldn’t be putting my name forward,” said McQuilken whose two-year contract ends next summer.

“There’s plenty better coaches than me around as head coach. I’m pretty happy doing what I’m doing, helping the team and having my own little area to work on. I’ll beaver away there. I’m sure there are plenty of candidates more qualified than I am. I did it with Greystones and with Lansdowne and in the NPC with my home club but it’s a totally different kettle of fish over here. I’m happy doing what I’m doing and wouldn’t see myself in the head coach’s role.”

Is that former Clontarf's former centre James Downey involved in the Munster set up now. Heard his name being being by panelists on Heineken cup special at the weekend?

It helps when your a regular starter for your team too.

Played well, looks decent anytime I saw a Saints game this and last season.

Aye. One of those players that'd be handy for any team, but was never going to make it into an Irish team without a decent run, and wouldn't ever be good enough to without that same run.

Going to England's done well for him.
