I feel for you op, pregnancy can be very cruel to some women's bodies. I myself have bad stretch marks and saggy skin on my stomach. It did strip me of a lot of my confidence. Every time I would see someones stomach I would feel inferior or ugly and especially if that girl was also a mother, I was always thinking ' Why did this have to happen to me?' I'm sure you feel similiar to this.

Cosmetic surgery might remove the sagginess but may not be able to remove the stretch marks, they will probably be with you for life. So even if you did manage to get the surgery you may still not be happy.

I wish I could say 'do this' or 'do that' and it will all be better. And I know many people will say that you should be happy that you have a healthy baby etc etc, but I know that just because you have had a child doesn't mean that you are suddenly happy to lose your looks and sexiness!

I have good self confidence now, but this is because I can hide my problems under clothes, I have a good figure and can look great 'Dressed!' I try to think of my positives and focus on them, and after a long time, the bad stuff like my stomach is less important and I even forget about it sometimes.

What has helped me also is that my partner adores me and tells me and shows me how attracted to me is still is, I know I am very lucky in this.

So in conclusion op, if you think that cosmetic surgery would improve your confidence you should look into it, but you shouldn't rush into a decision. I don't know how old your baby is, but you should give it a few years to do some exercises and use Bio Oil as it does improve the appearence of both the saggy skin and stretch marks but it takes a long time to work.

I wish you well in finding happiness and acceptance with your post baby body and wish I could have offered you better advice.

    Hey OP.

I think Bio Oil is the thing to start with. You can get it in any chemist. It reduces the appearance of scars and stretch marks. I don't know how long it takes for it to work but you will be able to ask the pharmacist.

Also, before you go to your GP about the possibility of breast augmentation, please research the topic and the possibility of getting it on the mediacal card. That way you'll know the risks and chances of success and such and your GP may be willing to refer you if he/she thinks you've done your homework. Otherwise he/she might try fob you off with "you must do X,Y and Z and then come back in 6 months"

    Best of luck OP

    hi OP
i know it can be really hard having stretch marks but before thinking about having surgery think about whether or not you will be having any more children, as you say you are only 23 and if you had surgery now and went on to have more babies you may feel you then want more surgery....

i would go with the bio oil and some exercises for a few months and see how you go...

You should have a chat with your midwife or a nurse about it, or if you h ave health insurance, they may have a nurseline or something like that. They will give you the reassurance you need. Cosmetic surgery won't. It will just fill the need of addressing physical insecurities by cut and paste rather than dealing with the emotional issue.

Skin stretches and because of its elasticity your body will go back to shape in time. It's natural to be self conscious of your body after giving birth (at any stage).
