Hi there, was thinking of buying a farm quad with a Weed wiper and Fertilizer spreader. With the intention of doing a bit of contracting with them but not sure of the best to buy! As with the amount of Rushes around the place after the great summer we got again this year. Also what hourly rate would one charge? I Know it's a bit late in the year but even to just get organised for next as there ain't much else to do !

We charge €60 per tank that we put on and supply the roundup at that too. Heavy rushes use more tanks and you have to drive slower. Lighter rushes use less and you can drive faster.

I knew a guy in Killorglin who used to do contract weed wiping , he used a John Deere gator and his own design of weed wiper. He charged 30-35 euro an hour depending on the terrain not including chemicals. That was in 2005.
Not sure if he's still at it.
