PLEASE TALK Launch outside the canteen at one on Monday! Free t-shirts and tea, comedy movies all day in the Chapel with more to follow.

For more information and a list of all the resources students and staff can avail of in the college! http://www.pleasetalk.ie/iadt

Please Talk is a campaign that began in University College Dublin in February 2007 in response to the death by suicide of a student. In March 2008 it was adopted by all the Universities in the State.

It is organised to alert students at Universities in the Republic of Ireland to the varied and manifold important student services that are available in their University. With the support of staff and students it is hoped that:

All students will hear about relevant student services especially in times of crisis and will know how to access them

It will be realised that to look for help is a real sign of strength and not a sign of weakness

All difficulties, academic, personal or financial will be responded to by caring and available staff.

Much ‘counselling’ happens in conversations among fellow students; therefore it is vital to listen when a friend chooses to trust us with something important.

Those who realise that a friend is experiencing difficulty will approach the student support services for advice and support

Everyone is important and we all need help at some point in our lives.

I'll be putting this in the Fine Details sticky as well but I thought that drawing peoples attentions to the launch of this great website and service was worth doing. Please turn out and show your support on Monday.
