I'm going to be getting a new dual-core (Atom N330) nettop soon because it suits my budget and portability needs, so I'd prefer not to exceed that budget by having to get a new LCD monitor to go with it. As I have a perfectly good laptop screen (though the laptop itself is aging) is there any way for me to route the video out of the nettop through my my laptop?

Yes, I know LCDs are getting very cheap nowadays but believe me I'm *very* budget sensitive on this package.

typically the only way to do that is through a TV tuner card.

You could use remote desktop or vnc or whatever if you have a wireless network (or in fact any network).
