Funny I was going to start a thread on this.

Its €60 to enter, thats it for the competition regardless how far you get, and in the first round you can arrange to play a friend and after that (if you beat your friend) your into the main draw. I heard that the guy who won it last year played 13 rounds! So if for example you get to the third round it works out at €20 a round which is great value. Also they've cut down the rough a lot so its a whole lot more playable than when the Irish PGA was played there eariler this year.

The only downside is that the first few rounds have to be played during the week, the later rounds can be played at weekends, cant take anymore days off but would love to play it.

I saw that around this time last year and thought it was a good idea but didn't enter it.

I was more looking at the over 35 event. You'd avoid unemployment and divorce with that one if you qualify as an oldie

Nice one, yay for being over 35! Though I have a home club event on the sunday and have been asked to play the (holiday) monday too.. golf 3 days in a row on the holiday weekend = divorce :(
