I dont think that incudes the HRM strap. I got mine with the strap at handtec.co.uk for about £265 (delivered)

Does it take long to pick up a signal with this around Stephen's Green? My 305 is taking ages...too long now it's getting cold, might need to look at other options.

RF, the 305 sometimes needs a reboot to make it fully functional again- wipe its memory and it sometimes acts like new again. I'm not techy enough to explain it, but it worked for mine when it started taking forever to get a signal- now its as good as new. I had been blaming slow issues on tall trees: no better reasoning than you suggesting central Dublin. It is well capable of working in all Irish enviroments. Do a google search of garmin 305 and rebooting, you might get something more explanitory.

I've ran 5 days this week from Ely place.
Mon, Tues, Weds picked up within 2-3
Fri picked up within 30 secondsminutes
    Thurs was 5 minutes (literally)

Ordered the footpod for running in the city centre. Bit of a joke really.

Same here, taking a good few mins, which I don't have to spare so not bothering with it most days. Thought it might have been just because mine is old, but obviously not. Maybe needs a reboot...

I stick mine out on the window ledge while I'm getting ready. So when I'm ready its ready.

If you've not used it in a while then or have moved location by quite a distance, a few hundred miles, then it will have trouble finding the satellites initially until it downloads the updated ephemeris(?) data. Shouldn't normally be an issue though, although my 405 was taking a while to get a lock last week when I was stood outside waiting to start my run, just had to be a bit more patient with it and leave it on the window before hand and it's all good then. Might have been the weather last week though causing the problems for me.

    Maybe.

hi, i am considering upgrading from my 305 to a 310xt, has anyone any views on the 310xt that might be of use to me?

I recently purchased a 310xt from wiggle, but have had to send it back to them. When i tried to charge it, it would only charge for a few minutes, and then would stop charging and turn on the watch. After a few minutes it would start charging again. This kept repeating. Any one else experience this? any info on how to fix? Garmin's website wasn't any help to me.

Same here. I never have to wait for the thing to come on, it's always ready before me.
