    Hi, is there a budget cap in F1 next season? I remember it was supposed to be this season but can't remember if its for next.

    No Budget cap, a firm commitment to reduce costs to 1990's levels by 2012.

    'firm comitment' sounds about as loose as... a sailors tongue!

    its a wonder they even bother doing these sorts of discussions in public, why not just keep it behind closed doors and then come out with it if indeed something has changed.

    PS I know the journo's get hold of a leak, and then it gets into the public arena and then we have to hear about it blow for blow until its settled one way or another. I guess we have JA and his blog to thank for all this political crap.

    So is 1990's levels, I would guess there is a big difference between spending in 1990 and 1999. :pac:

    I believe it was the mid 90's so anywhere from 94-96 spending I think
