    Hi,
Can someone please help me with this choice.
I want a light road bike, for training, with a decent set on it that wont need replacing every six months! Will also be using it for the odd triathalon too! Sorry I know now this might be a little like comparing apples and oranges but need some input as want to keep budget below 750 (can haggle on these!) Want to know what would be best VFM.

Cheapest of the bunch but might represent good VFM?

    I'd get the SCR4.

Its cheap, it'll do you over the winter, and if you get the training in you can buy a nice new bike next Spring when you understand what you're buying.

    Providing everything actually works.

Hi Folio, while have mostly ridden Treks and think theyre a top bike I wouldnt spend E8-900 on one of the above.

If you really want one though and are willing to fork out that sort of money I would seriously suggest you check out the UK eBay site. I did. You should get something similar spec but newer. The above bikes are more like 4 years old, though the owners might have got them the year after(if that makes sense)

Good luck with whatever you go with.

Mikes Bikes in Dun Laoghaire have a Specialized Allez for sale at around 500
