Sorry for the long thread title lads, but iv a few questions.

Since the old grill was reversed into last week, I need to get it repaired and unfortunately it being a very rare grill (only i production for 6 months and was an optional extra) difficult to get new. In fact you cannot get them new.

So I need to get a new one fabricated and chromed, I think is aluminium. Or either a very good repair then chroming.

Iv tried to hammer it into position but it is torn so needs to be replaced.

Any suggestions? Any help would be much appreciated.

Heres a photo of the damaged grill.

Try eBay, you are bound to find a new one in the UK, or make contact with the MG Car Owners Club, who would have a website.

did you try mgb hive .co.uk ?

Tried ebay, MG Owners Club, MG Hive the lot. It just seems this grill is no longer made. Been watching ebay for the last two weeks and nothing. Even tried places in the US and A with no luck. Rare design to I would be very lucky to find a useable one.

Guy in MG Club said I will simply have to get one made or repaired. Any recommendations?

Am i right in thinking its a pressed-aluminium grill...If so, i doubt if anyone will repair it to a good standard...Is the grill all on piece or is the bottom panel (thats damaged )seperate from the actual grill.?..sorry for the questions but it might be more fixable if its seperate...

    It is pressed aluminium alright.

Yes the bottom panel can be seperated from the rest, i believe.

So is the grill damaged too..?
I'm guessin you could do a neat enough job repairing the panel itself...that stuff tends to be very bendy....where abouts are you..?

Or have you tried these people.....

I reckon a decent metal fabricator could do that in no time. Then just get it chromed, or better still get it made in stainless and then get it polished.

Ohh so its aluminium, well a fab should still knock it up no problem !
