What rules did you have for marbles?

Remember our area went through a mad marbles craze when I was about 7 I think (Early-Mid 80s)... Just thinking I've heard others had different rules but here is how we used to play:

Pretty much unlimited play area, if you hit the other guy's marble you won and got to keep his one. You had to play the marble from where it landed on your previous throw

Different marbles had different values... White ones (non-see through) with colours painted on "Frenchies" had to be hit twice or 3 times by a normal glass one with the paint inside to be won... but marbles of equal values only had to hit each other once.

Also the bigger ones (you got big one in every pack) called "Boolies" had to be hit 3 times by small ones
Navy glass ones with spots on called "Spottie Dicks"
Marble-sized Ball-bearings were called "Steelies" and had to be hit a sh*t load of times - 10 I think

You could call various things like "Flicks" meant the opponent had to flick his marble like you would a coin to throw it, or "Click to win" if your marble was in say a leafy area and there was a danger of the other guy moving your marble without actually hitting it and a few other like "Stops" or something where you could stop your opponents marble while it was moving... I think there was one where you had to throw from your chin!

Did everyone have these same or similar rules? Or is it different for different areas?

A line of 3 marbles where place near the wall, the thrower stood just off the footpath. The more marbles, or if conkers(the big ones) were involved, the further back the thrower had to stand.
