Using Outlook on the Wifi network

Has anyone managed to do this? Various sources suggest it is impossible, but I'm hoping against hope because Outlook 2007 is a very handy organisational tool, but is pretty useless if I can't get my e-mail down to it. If you have it working (using POP or IMAP), care to let me know your settings?
