    Hi,

have put the alarm on the long finger but want to get it sorted now.

3 bed semi - wiring in place- gonna use 2 * pir's, 2 or 3 window sensors and two control panels and an external box on front of house.

any recommendations on a type of alarm or make for this job ?

    thx

    k

    Hi karltimber,
If your doing your own install the astec with voice dialer should do you, very easy to install and very litle programing..

If you are going with Astec go for the Fusion with a text dialler . Much better value than the 63/49 voice diallers.

The astec fusion has alot more programing to be done on it than you would have to do with astec 63DV, so if your not to familiar with alarms you sould install the 63 DV. It will give you 6 zones for the windows and you can put 3 pirs on to the system also.

More programming I agree, but with a menu structure rather than command codes its a lot more user friendly & a lot more value for near enough the same price.
The option to use conventional wiring is also + for some people.
Also the fusions ability to switch individual zones to 2 wire can be a great advantage if you wish to add to the system in the future using existing wiring.

It is alot better for you and i who know how to navigate the menus in the alarm but the 63 DV has very little programing once installed for someone who has never installed an alarm. With regard to the ability of the fusion to switch individual zones to 2 wire, the 63 DV already uses 2 wires so the existing cable can be utilized in the same way. They are both good systems and i have never had any problems using either of them. Once installed properly they are as good as any wired alarm on the market.
