Replacement cordless home phone - DECT or VoIP

    Hi

I've had a panasonic DECT phone in the house for years and it has worked brilliantly up til now.

    It died last night.

I am wondering if it makes sense to replace it with a like for like DECT phone or whether it makes more sense to put in something new, i.e. a VoIP handset.

I am wondering if a combined analogue/VoIP cordless handset is available in Ireland and whether that might be a better bet. The little panasonic handset was great and all that but extremely limited.. lots of having to add in all the contact numbers again and no sms facility etc. etc.

    Any thoughts?

Anyone got such a thing (combined analog/VoIP handset) in their home?
