Broke up, how to cope

I just recently broke up with my girlfriend after over 8 years together. Things haven't been going well for a while and it hasn't hit me properly yet.

I'm still a young lad and I don't have the urge to meet other people. Is this normal ?

How do people cope with separating after such a long time ?

Perfectly normal. Especially after 8 years. It will get easier with time
