brand new 500G Portable hardrive don't work?

    I bought this IOMEGA 500G Portable Hardrive and its not showing in My Computer after installation. The laptop is recognizing it, caus eit gives me the option to safely remove it. I tried all ports, restarting computer, switches, etc..
    I'm flowing on a W.Vista and tried updating it, still no luck!!!

    Anyone got some advise to donate to the needy?
    Please..... :)

    From the website it look like it needs to be formatted for use with windows.

    As msg11 says, format it. I had to do that with my one. And see if you can select the Quick Format option as a regular format will take a while.
