Hey, im an accountancy student in my last year and one of my lecturers doesnt give enough notes on his subject (i can only assume he feels you should research stuff yourself) so i have to look up stuff online and im finding it difficult as there is very little good sites for the info i need. (also, theres no books good enough in the library)
So im just wondering if there is any resource anyone has found for studying for general college courses as well as in the accountancy area?
    id really appreciate any help!
    thanks

If you are in your last year at university, you should really be trying to improve your research skills, and your lecturer probably believes that you should be reading journal articles rather than books at this level. Does your university have access to a wide enough range of journals in electronic form, through an online provider such as Business Source Complete (EBSCO), Scopus, Web of Science, or Ingenta Connect, or through publisher databases such as WileyInterscience? If so, you need to track down a course at your university that will teach you how to search these databases most effectively.

It's difficult to give more specific advice without knowing which particular area of accounting is causing the problem. By the way, with the increasing use of anti-plagiarism software, it can be dangerous for your grades to rely too much on the internet.

Thanks for the reply, im investigating your recommendations now! The subject title is systems and project management
The thing is i dont think the specialised information offered in journals suitable to what i need too learn. my reasoning is that hes covering so many different areas and moves on so quickly that we dont need an extensive knowledge of a particular area just the definition of it, pros cons, how it works etc. it seems the kind of info thats basic enough to be available anywhere but im finding it hard to access it anywhere.

Sorry, systems and project management isn't my area. I can see the problem you have with the internet - I've just searched on "systems and project management" and Google says there are 14,300,000 items!

Let's hope someone else can help out!

I did project mgmt in tralee IT & will see if I can find notes this eve but think I dumped them all. Maybe if you search the individual chapters you might have more luck or ask lecturer where to find extra stuff cause you want to do more research.
