removing head badge

    just about to send my frame out for paint
    but i dont know how to remove the head badge???
    looks like theres two rivets inside the head tube so will i just knock these off??

    I'd say probably go down the route of taping over it before you go knocking it off the frame - I'd imagine adhesive paper tape ought to do it (all it needs to do is cover it during spraying, not during baking right?)

    i'd use a variable speed drill (one that starts slowly ) drill the heads off they are usually aluminium and you can drill off the heads with a metal drill bit, being very careful not to damage the badge or the frame, donr this on my gutters.

    thanks for the tips but i just ended up pulling the badge off.
    i didnt damage the badge to much and i dont know if il put it back on to be honest.

    its €80 for one color and the chap out there is relly helpfull.will be collecting it on friday so il post some pics of it.i got it painted orange and powder blue with the wheels been black.like these colors http://cache.jalopnik.com/cars/images/ford_gt_gulf.jpg

    are these clored chains you see on fixies diy jobs or can tou buy them???

    anyone know where i can get a powder blue saddle??

    A GT40 fixie bike - sweet!

    You're gonna have to put small round race numbers on the top tube/down tube for full effect though

    not a bad idea CheGuedara, maybe il give it a go
    il be assembling the bike this weekend and am replacing allt the bearings and all that.getting a cog and chain off ebay and thats it,or is it any tips or advice in regards to assembling a fixie

    Assuming your Raleigh has a square taper axle then any square taper crank will fit. However modern cranks are often completely different, i.e. Octalink etc.
