Ps3 update.

    Hey.

    just down loaded my ps3 update, on to my pc put it on a memorey stick stuck it in, and the ps3 wont read the update when i go to

    setttings

    system update

    scan internet or memorey device and its not seeing the info there?

    The infos on the stick allready can see it on my pc.

    Any ideas ?

    Make sure that the update file is in the following location 'PS3\UPDATE\'.

    yeah the PS3 searches for the update in that folder on the USB stick. Hence if there is no folder it wont be able to find the update.

    well thats the thing i downloaded this from the playstation site " PS3UPDAT.PUP " tried to rename it and it wont let me rename the file :confused:

    What?????

    You don't rename it. As mentioned previously
    • On your USB Stick, create a PS3 folder in the main [root] folder.
    • Within the PS3 folder, create an UPDATE folder
    • Put PS3UPDAT.PUP in the UPDATE folder
    • Plug USB key into PS3
    • From XMB, Select Update System Software or whatever.
