Scary news coming out of an already exciting trade week -

Blues hoping to close deal on Thursday

CARLTON forward Brendan Fevola appears to be heading to the Brisbane Lions, with the clubs negotiating a deal that would see Daniel Bradshaw and Michael Rischitelli return to Victoria.

The Blues will meet with the two Lions players' managers on Thursday, and hope to strike a deal before Friday's 2pm deadline.

Early on Wednesday Carlton's football manager Steven Icke told afl.com.au there had been no movement on a Fevola trade, but the club said that changed when news of a potential deal was reported on Wednesday afternoon.

The Lions have already acquired Brent Staker (West Coast), Amon Buchanan (Sydney Swans) and Andrew Raines (Richmond) this week and coach Michael Voss said on Monday that his club was keen to add to those recruits.

Having Fevola in the same forward line as Jonathan Brown would appear to have greater potency than the revered Brown-Bradshaw combination, with Fevola winning this year's Coleman Medal.

Bradshaw has played 222 games for the Lions and was a member of their 2001 and 2003 premiership sides.

Rischitelli appeared in each of the Lions' 24 games in 2009 to take his career tally to 89.

The 2009 AFL exchange period runs from October 5-9. No trades are official until paperwork has been accepted by the AFL and formally recognised after 2pm on Friday, October 9.

That would be an unbelievable forward duo and they would bag heaps of goals next season.

Might slap a tenner of the Lions for next year's flag!

    Not anymore.

Rischitelli refused to go so it's the first round draft pick plus Henderson instead.

Indeed. I'm gonna stick $20 on them for the flag next year.

Bradshaw walked out on the Lions today after turning down a 2 year deal. Can't blame him really. He was probably gonna be moved down back anyway.
