Custom Wedges

A word of advice for those who use custom irons.

I've almost always used +1/2 inch irons, but over the years, I've always been hugely reluctant to get longer wedges. I've stuck with standard for a long, long time basically for fear of losing control on what should (!) be the most controlable clubs in the bag. Aside from that, it seems quite common at higher levels for guys who do use longer irons to stick with standard wedges.

But I gave it a go recently, and tried two vokeys that were the same spec as my irons and I must say I've been a fool. It's not a silly, overnight, beginners-luck improvement. But it certainly is more comfortable.

Thought it was worth a post as if you ask, i betcha most guys you meet with longer irons don't have longer wedges.
