WWE Bragging Rights Previews And News (may be spoilers and such at some stage)

Haven't been keeping up with wrestling for the past couple of months, except for the odd episode of ECW. So have just read about the next ppv, and the concept behind it.

Bragging Rights' (crap name) concept is based around the main event, where an inter-promotional tag team match will take place. The participants of the tag teams will be made up of the winners of other matches on the card.

Not sure if I'm a fan of the concept ... I can only imagine (and hope) that this bragging rights match will be used as a spring board for a big inter-promotional match at survivor series.

Getting a bit sick of the gimmicked ppv's. At least bring back the King of the Ring.

Agree with this. Absolutely nothing wrong with bringing back KOTR as a PPV. Young guy gets huge push, other young guys can get pretty good pushes out of it too. Loads of different storylines can come out of it. Still plenty of time for other matches.

I know this is mentioned as spoilers int he thread, but someone may still pop in unaware of SD spoilers. I am going to edit the above post to hide the spoiler.

I am a bit confused about this PPV. Isn't this exactly teh same as what they done in Survivor Series a few years ago?

I'm not liking the idea of an iron match between Cena and Orton - i hoped their feud was over after the last PPV but no

So where does ECW roster fit in for this PPV?

sd spoilers and Raw spoilers were always allowed in PPV threads before.:o
    Fair enough I suppose though.

Orton retains the title, and Cena goes to Smackdown which will lead to Cena V Batista for the World heavyweight title @ Wrestlemania. Originally planned for WM25 but Batista was unable to compete,

FOREVERRRRR!!!! That one always makes me lol.

Very interested to see the ironman match, however, I honestly couldn't care about any of the titles anymore. Remember the says when someone would hold the belt for an age. Now we have a new champion most months.

Are the title on the line in The Miz Jo Mo match?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,588 ✭✭✭JP Liz

So who else will be on Team SD with Jericho?

I'm guessing Finlay, Ziggler, Matt Hardy, Kane, One of the Hart Dynasty and R Truth

I think they may throw Drew on that team vs well. I imagine their will be a swerve in that match with either Cena joining if he loses his match or more realistically Show kills everyone on the Raw side setting up DX v Jerishow for Survivor Series.

Fans aren't going to know who to cheer for if the teams are gonna be a mix of face and heel????

Team SD *coughs* Jericho all the way :D

I'm hoping maybe some of ECW could also be included in Team SD *coughs* Christian

Team Smackdown: Chris Jericho, Kane, Cryme Tyme, Dolph Ziggler, Eric Escobar & Drew McIntyre.

Hmm, Team Raw looks ever so slightly stronger.

Do WWE actually believe fans "support" one brand over another?

Anyway, this concept was done at Survivor Series a few years ago. Smackdown won. As concepts go for a stand alone PPV, its seems silly. Is this thing one fall to a finish, or is it elimination? If its the latter, then that takes from SS next month, if its the former, they are using to many people for one match.

Smackdown team with two relative "newcomers". Don't think anyone will credibly believe Smackdown can win.

What did Eric Escobar do to get on team Smackdown. I can think of a few bigger draws than him or is this just a Vickie decision?

    SD Spoiler
Before a Bragging Rights qualifying match, Tony Chimmel introduced Vickie Guerrero. She got a ton of heat, you could barely hear her. She introduced Eric Escobar and as soon as she said his name, people stopped booing and just sat down. Wow. His opponent is Matt Hardy, to a big pop. Escobar won after Vickie distracted the ref, rammed Hardy into the turnbuckle and rolled him up. After the match the happy couple posed in the ring.

Would it not have been better to keep the Team Raw vs Team SD till Surivor Series?

They also used this concept of a faces/heels mixture in a "Wild Card" match at Survivor Series '95, which i loved at the time.

At last night's tapings, JTG, Eric Escobar, Drew McIntyre and Dolph Ziggler teamed up as Shad Gaspard was ill. They took on the team of Matt Hardy, Finlay, The Hart Dynasty and R-Truth. Matt Hardy's team got the win so they are now Team SmackDown along with Chris Jericho and Kane.

The RAW vs. SmackDown match now looks like this:

Triple H, Shawn Michaels, Big Show, Mark Henry, Cody Rhodes, Jack Swagger and Kofi Kingston vs. Chris Jericho, Kane, Tyson Kidd, David Hart Smith, Finlay, Matt Hardy and R-Truth

i am delighted the hart dynasty (still dont like that name) have been moved to team SD, really like them and maybe this is the push they deserve! (after months of facing against crime time)

Hmmm. I'm please the sides are somewhat more even, but this booking is simply bizzare.

Id love to see a group of ECW wrestlers come out during the big tag match and clear house. Never happen though.

Doesn't look like it. They have a championship match on their next broadcast.

The entire ECW roster couldn't clear Big Show and Henry out of the ring, let alone the rest of the teams.

I guess Bragging Rights isn't generating much interest :p

Word of note. The event begins at midnight as our clocks will be going back and the Americans don't do it for a while yet.

Hmmm i think this PPV is more a marking tool for Smackdown Vs Raw 2010, think about it. Its on the same week the game hit the shops and is a PPV basically Smackdown Vs Raw and sponsered by Smackdown Vs Raw 2010 :)

I think i will stay up and watch this since i am not in work until 2pm
