    Hi all,

Does anyone know of a good second-hand lense sales outlet on this cold island? Maybe theres one on boards.ie already, but I haven't found any posts.

Any of the shops in Dublin I have asked in say they don't do second-hand stuff.

    any tips appreciated,
    thanks
    bernard

try adverts.ie you'll find everyone from this forum lurking there!! Both McSweeneys and Camera World in Cork have a range of 2nd hand lens - not extensive though.

I keep away from the Photography section on Adverts.ie ...... it costs me money when I go there! ;)

I'm on the lookout at the moment too here's a couple of places I've come across:
photography ireland has a buy and sell section.
    Havent used these:
Camera exchange in Dublin stocks some second hand lenses
Conns also list second hand gear on their website
Greys of Westminister seem to have a lot of lenses in stock, a google search would turn up their website (might be all nikon gear)

    Thanks for all the replies.

    Never have thought of adverts.ie

I had a poke around and there seems to be a fair few lenses available.

I am looking for one in particular.

Next weekend I'll give the shops mentioned a go and see what I find.

    thanks

adverts will be cheaper than the shops (for secondhand)

So far I have bought a Canon 40D, 4 lenses, and a 550EX flash all on eBay. The 40D & 1 of the lenses was secondhand, the flash was secondhand, all perfect.
Ebay can be time consuming but if you do the research, are disciplined about your bidding etc., then you will emerge a winner.

I have always found pricing in Irish camera shops to be insane. Even the 2nd hand gear is very expensive for what you get.

My most recent purchase was a mint EF85mm f/1.8 with hood & filter for eu250. I dont think there is a retailer in ireland who could come close to a deal like that....
