Not sure what to do with myself...

    Hi everyone,

Just felt like I should post on here - see if anyone has any advice.

I'm 21, from Dublin originally but moved to England three years ago. I had a nice job in Dublin, working in IT, but I'm now working in the travel industry. I also have a second job working a few hours a week in my local hospital to earn a bit extra.

I left school before doing my Leaving, though I consider myself reasonably intelligent - I left for personal reasons (rebellious teenager).

I earn a good salary doing what I do - a salary I doubt I could match elsewhere with my qualifications (or lack of). I'm not too keen on my job any more, but this is the problem.

I have no idea what to do with my life.

I always wanted to do medicine, but could I live as a student for five years? Could I get myself accepted (at least an extra year's work to meet entry requirements). In fact, any uni course will have the same problems. I have about £4000 worth of credit card and overdraft debt, plus a £6000 car loan. There's no way I could maintain my lifestyle through a uni course.

Apart from medicine, there's so many things I'd be interested in doing. Other interests might be teaching or getting a merchant navy officer cadetship (odd choice, but have family in the shipping industry).

    So, career wise, no idea.

Financially, I need to get my debt sorted. It's not huge, but more than I'm comfortable with. I want to be able to move back to Ireland at some point, hopefully sooner rather than later.

Personally, I don't really have any friends. This is partly due to having no time, and partly due to the fact that I'm painfullly shy and useless in social situations. It's a bit of a lonely world, my one.

I think I've covered everything, sorry it's a bit all over the place, any advice appreciated.
