I'm guessing from your postcount that you're new here and so may not be familiar with the general rules on boards.ie. Replies such as the one I have quoted are tolerated to some extent in specific sections such as After Hours, but in most other fora a little more effort is expected.

Regarding the original question, I didn't follow the strip myself but I do think it's a bit of a shame that it marks the decline of serialised sport comics. I remember reading old comic annuals as a kid that managed to make golf (golf!) an exciting sport to read about, along with soccer, cricket, and running amongst others...

Shame as I used to follow it as well. Those 'viral emails' that replaced it are dire.
