How would you cope with everything you do been plastered all over newspapers and discussed to death on the internet?

Would you be willing to waive your right to privacy for the sake of fame or fortune?

    No.

I lived in a small town in the West of Ireland one where everyone knows your business. I know its not the fame you refer to OP but sometimes you feel like some things you have done may aswell be printed in the local paper

Anyone else who has ever lived/grew up in a small town will be able to relate to what im on about.

I think theres a balance to be found, theres certian high profile people that are very successful for their music/ acting etc but arent in the public eye so much that they have no privacy

I like my privacy, and wouldn't give it up for any amount of money. What about yourself? :)

Baloney! C'mon Abigayle lets be realistic here. You know as well as Pighead that everybody has a price. Nobody is immune from the lure of the filthy lucre.

Pighead voted for the first one because he wants to experience rehab.

i want to be famous and get rich for being a weirdo, hanging a kid over a balcony, and sleep in an oxygen tent with a chimpanzee. that should get me legions and legions of loyal followers. and then i'll be rich and young forever.

I think its the made up gossip that would p?ss me off, the quotes from 'friends of so and so' or the 'trusted source'.

It gets darker outside, and that coincides with my flake out period where I watch the Simpsons and scratch my sack

and I live on busy-ish road, and fcukers can see me through the window

I may also be slightly insane, though

    Nah I couldn't handle fame..

I hear ya. I can understand why people would want fortune, nobody wants to have to struggle in life. But why the hell anybody would want fame is beyond me.

Even if you're in shyte form, you cant let on to fans.. then theres the weirdos n' stalkers. The makey-uppy shyte the media come up with would shatter me, because lets face it. Some people actually believe all the crap they read.

I think Jordan is absolutely vile. Everything she does is for effect and to keep her in the media, utter filth. Wasn't there some sex tapes on the go while she was pregnant with Dwight Yorks son, and she was being rattled by a few lads in it? The details are a bit fuzzy, because its not something you actually want to remember. The only thing she is famous for is being a slut.

They were obviously happy to give up their privacy to have their fortune in the first place, I on the other hand; would not.

    I take it you would?

In a flash! Pighead wants to be adored.

You're talking about the rubbish kind of fame where normal intelligent people look down on you and think of you as scum and nobody quite knows how the person got famous in the first place.

Pighead's talking about the kind of fame where even clever people look at you in the street and swoon and if you give them a little wave it makes their day/week/life. Someone like Al Pacino. Everybody loves Pacino. Or Stephen Fry. Too have that ability to make people act like dumbstruck baboons would be amazing.

Yeah yeah yeah, Pighead realises that when he walks down the street at the moment he has the ability to make chicks swoon and wolf whistle but that's not enough. Men shoudl be doing it too and if Pighead were famous they would. Bring it on.

I brought that rubbish kind of fame into it because I assumed its the kind URL meant, Jordan gets a mention in the poll.

If it helps any, the vast majority of boardsies do in fact have that dumbstruck baboon look just reading your posts. They have that 'where the fcuk did that come from' quality. They bear a soft caramel centre of truth, with a crispy generalization shell, and still provoke thought. Indeed, you have a gift.

Wouldn't mind being famous in Ireland but not worldwide. "Celebs" here are not bothered half as much as in other countries. They get all the perks and none of the bother in my eyes. In saying that it would have to be something I actually accomplished! I know a couple of people "in the public eye" all of whom are great craic and have never heard them once complain about people recognising them. :)

Having lived through a few years of fame in the 90's I know how hard it can be but I also know all the benefits that one can reap from being 'that face about town'.

Yeah it's a good life alright. A good good life.

Anyway - just for those who can't remember who I am, here's one of my videos. Enjoy!

I would hate to be famous, i really don't understand the obsession with it. I do enjoy reading all the sleazy stories about some celebs but could never deal with it myself. I would be the type who would end up killing themselves. A couple of years a fairly well known comedian/presenter asked me out we went out a couple of times and I did like him but I just couldn't deal with random people staring at us all the time. I googled him after our second date and half the entries were about women he had been seeing so I just had to break up with him. Looking back on it I probably would have escaped any of the attention as the other women were kind of famous too but I just didn't want any kind of attention at all.

If everyone stopped bying those sh1te magazines we would be back to the situation whereby one only became famous because of ones talents.

Blame wimmins and GP's waiting rooms.

I disagree with that, if you look back there have always been people who have been famous simply for being aristocrats, kids of someone rich etc. Its just that these days working class people are able to get in on the act too with the likes of BB. Hello is a just an upmarket version of Heat.

I could imagine all the mad stories they'd make up about you. Some night you'd stumble out of a pub with one of your best mates who happens to be a girl then BAM ! Front page news, new woman on the scene. I'd purposely take the piss to see what they'd come up with next.

Indeed, and Hello is also a sh1te magazine and is commonly bought by wimmins & found in GP's waitng rooms. My view on it is that if you are famous for being famous and make a living from it then you have no right to privacy from the public. You rely on public interest in your life for your living so stop moaning.

Should you go back 40 years, I think it would be hard to find someone who was famous from simply being a celebrity.
