Ya I got myself, expensive for the price but seems good so far. I'm not fond of light gun games either but I love the Dead Space series and it's a lot of fun. It's never going to be as creepy as the original since it's a guided experience but it has great production values and an interesting story mode. Put simply as it's a prequel to Dead Space every single character can be considered expendable. This means you've got a completely non-linear narrative that helps counterbalance the linear quality of the genre

There's a video review up on www.gametrailers.com I'd recommend too but give it a go, although 45eur is a bit steep IMO

It's easily the best light-gun game I've played.
That's not the worlds highest accolade or anything but I've enjoyed it.

It's pretty light on action compared to most on-rails shooters though, so genre fans may want to take that into account.

I'm only a few chapters in (trying to make it last) but not unbeileveably impressed. Picked the hard difficulty but haven't died once yet in the story mode. Does it pick up? Played a couple of challenge levels - how are they for replay? One criticism that I have so far is that the connection between shooting and actually hitting something (if that makes sense) is not that great. Particularly with a weapon like the flamethrower. You're supposed to be focussed on shooting off limbs but I don't always see the result in a way that says - "yeah you got the right arm there". Kinda of difficult to explain! Anyone else find that?

Don't exactly get your meaning but with the flamethrower that doesn't really matter. Just spray em.
With the others just aim for the joints of their limbs and off they pop.

As for will it pickup or not....not really.
If you're not enjoying it by now there aren't any major surprises in store for you.
It is a light gun game after all.

Well different weapons have a different reaction time. EG the default weapon (rail gun?) takes an AGE to get to the target, as you'd expect. And the Assault Rifle and PSEC Handgun are pretty fast. But try statis'ing an enemy and you'll see how accurate it is.

I'm on the last act myself and have to say it's beyond what I imagined. I've jumped at times and had to pause the game for a "did I really see that?" bit.

Especially when playing as Nathan McNeill near the end. He
comes to the tram platform and there's a load of people there. Suddenly and very slowly they just turn to face him. He looks away then looks back and BAM there's a guy standing right in front of you. Made me jump a little!

My only gripe with the game is that there aren't checkpoints or regular save slots. I've come across a few glitches in the game where I had to restart the whole level! Eg in the ducts a necromorph was attacking me from off screen but I couldn't shoot at 'im. Very annoying! Oooh and picking up the audio/text logs. The game continues! Especially at one of the cut scenes. I was trying to read through one and the characters were yapping away!

But very enjoyable and a great take of an on-the-rails shooter. I mean you really get in to the characters because you're not the same voiceless fella running around. But at 40 quid (in Xtravision) it's a bit steep for what it is. I'm hoping to replay it on a harder level (I wussed and picked 'normal' and also want to try the extra content.......Oh and having the comic in there was a nice addition!).

Yeah the comic was a nice addition, but you can already download that free from xbox live, which I did when playing Dead Space.
A bit short on features really, they could have included the flick or something.

Just completed it and decided to play a few of the "arcadey" type levels. Have to say not impressed that I spent 40 quid on this! But it is a nice tie in to the series. Explains a lot and the ending is perfect, if a little confusing.

I had to rethink wether the lack of boss battles put me off or threw this one out of the arcade genre. I mean it would seem a tad generic if it was level-boss, level-boss.

Well what I'm really trying to say is get it cheaper online or second hand! Very short and I can't see myself replaying it just to get more weapon upgrades and text/audio logs.

loved the Dead Space game on the 360 so am tempted to pick this up. More likely to be one for having a mate around for an evening to fly through it like i did with house of the dead overkill. Maybe a rental or a cheap purchase
