if it was only cosmetic damage to panels etc i would not bother as it has been put right but anything more like chassis damage could be a lot more serious.

Chassis is still bent a little when u take off the tray but not badly. and there is a rattle inside when u accelerate but i have been told its completely harmless. Legally do u have to declare it in ads or just if someone asks?

Bent chassis would be more than panel damage. As you know this you cannot say it was not damaged if asked.

Someone sold it to you and didnt tell you it was damaged. Most people in your situation would state..... It hasnt been crashed while Ive had it and as far As Im aware it wasnt crashed before i got it either. This is wrong though seeing as you are aware of damage to it. Just saying that is what many people would do specially seeing as it was passed to you like that previously.
If asked though, you should declare the damage you know of.

If you mention it in the ad you'll be in for a very lonely time! Cars are hard to shift these days and if you mention crash damage in the ad nobody will even come to look at it. If it's priced right and you do get people to come see it then you should tell them that since you got it you were made aware of some repairs but that's why you're selling it so cheap. Let them decide for themselves then. By the way, if someone is travelling a long way to look, I'd tell them over the phone rather than waste their time.

If you're asked, you have to tell them afaik.

    Thanks all.

Is it best to be honest from the start so and have a list of what i had to do to it and get the proposed buyer to sign something to say Ive told them this and have a witness there? Or would it be worth asking a solicitor to draw up something so i will have no comeback no matter what ?

I wouldn't advertise the fact on carzone. I also don't think you are legally obliged to tell, buyer beware and all that. In saying that I personally would tell a buyer if it had been damaged but only when they come to view it. You can show them how minor it is and that it does not affect the performance of the car. Don't make a big deal of it. No need for solicitors either. :)

is it not false advertising though if i tried to sell it without saying ? if anything else shows up after, say different engine or parts or something more important can the buyer come back to me ???

I would assume its up to the buyer to make sure they are 100% satisfied before buying it. After that though ****
