    Hey Guys,
Recently been given a photography project to do titled "Saturday night, Sunday morning" and even though it's not that complicated, I've had no (good) ideas at all! I got it 2weeks ago and still, nothin!... just wondering if anyone could throw out some suggestions maybe? It has to be 2 photos, (preferably to do with each other)... and they can't be alcohol related...
    :pac: thanks!

Photos in Temple Bar at 11pm Sat night, and then 6am Sunday morning???

Busy Temple Bar at night, and then totally empty streets early in the morning. You don't have to show any pubs/alcohol at all.

I'd actually find that kind of hard as the nightspot locations would be an obvious one. Did you think maybe of a football field? Get pictures of the park empty at night and full in the morning of matches etc, check out your local gaa clubs to see who has an early sunday match, you could then go for a nice long exposure including a nice sky and moon if anything like last nights and then full of energy in the morning.

Another option could be race tracks if there is any racing coming up anywhere soon.

If there are any docks near you how about heading down Saturday night, and getting reflections in water etc., then the trawlers should be arriving in Sunday morning around dawn (ask the harbour master what a good time would be) so there'd be a bustle of activity as crates of fish are offloaded and everything cleaned down.

Another potential (depending on your dining habits) would be to show a messy table full of take away cartons with plastic forks on Saturday night, perhaps with the TV on in the back ground, then the same table on Sunday morning - nicely set with a flower in a vase, and a full blown brunch (French toast, champagne, strawberries), napkins and perhaps the Sunday papers.

Just realised champagne is alcohol :o

So replace the champagne with a nice coffee pot?

    Shot 1.

Moody shot of a couple, soft light, romantic scene, him giving her a single red rose.

    Shot 2.

A same rose discarded and wilting.

(EDIT: Wait, can't be alcohol related. As in, nothing at all? That's a little odd. Ok, if that's the case then I'll have a think and get back to you.)

I'd go with portraits, either self or of your friends. Preferably a girl.

What you do is this: Go out Saturday night. Have as many people get together in someone's house as everyone is getting all dolled up and generally looking fabulous and excited. Then go out, get completely smashed, the more drunk the better. The next morning take photos of people just as they are waking up, looking hung over, make-up smeared, red eyes etc.

Then pick your favourite pair. Make sure they're matching. That is to say, you before and after, or a particular girl before and after, or a group shot before and after.

Everyone is going to be doing shots of templebar or some predictable shit like that. I'd suggest my idea above or one of the other outside the box suggestions above. Don't be predictable, your lecturer will love you for doing something unique. Unless the lecturer is a short sighted idiot, in which case do exactly what everyone else is doing. It's a judgement call.

Maybe a picture of a taxi rank full of taxis at 11 and an empty rank the next morning or just use the nightlink buses along westmoreland street?

    How did it go?

    You're prob finished now but

What about a homless person outside a church and then the next day the mass goers?

Ah youre finished? I was thinking, a night or two hanging around a hospital.... if you spoke to some families/relatives, got permission to document their saturday night/sunday morning....

Im thinking anything from a kid getting stitches, to losing a loved one, to someone giving birth!

Okay, now I want to do that.
